Dog having bad reaction after shots & meds. Is this an emergency?

Poor Willow! This white pus in his eyes are a sign of an eye infection, and he has to see a vet immediately for it. The eye is such an important and delicate structure that any problem with them should be considered an emergency. Leaving it untreated can lead to vision loss. I would take Willow into an ER vet or find a vet on call to see him now. While there, the vet can investigate the cause of his vomiting, which can certainly be caused by eating something he shouldn't, as well as parvovirus, GI illness, or a foreign body.

If it is not the vet who vaccinated him make sure to let them know he had a reaction so they can note in his chart and report it to the vaccine company. I hope Theo feels better soon.

Any time I have administered a vaccination and the animal then begins vomiting or exhibiting any other abnormal symptoms, I treat as a potential adverse vaccination reaction. I would recommend taking him back to the veterinarian that performed the vaccination to have him examined and treated for a potential vaccination reaction. This may have nothing to do with the vaccination but it would be best to have him examined and go from there. I hope this helps guide you in the right direction! Congrats on your nephew's new puppy, but I'm sorry that Mia is sick! While puppies can have reactions to deworming treatments such as vomiting, dewormers are typically very safe. An allergic reaction to a deworming medication would be very rare. In addition, it should not still be sick from the deworming treatment days afterwards. To me, that suggests there could be something more wrong with her. Given her age, she won't be fully vaccinated, and one of the diseases I would be most concerned about is parvovirus. This is a very deadly disease of unvaccinated dogs, and it's extremely contagious. This causes vomiting, and dehydration from this vomiting will occur especially if she can't keep down water. Dehydration is the number one cause of death in these puppies. Because I can't see her in person to rule out parvovirus or another cause of the vomiting such as a GI illness, eating something rotten, or a foreign body, I do think having her seen by a vet now is for the best. Please take her into an ER vet clinic; if there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. Poor little Kitana! Pets can vomit for many reasons and it could have been related to the vaccines. If she is ill beyond 24 hours, then I recommend to have her seen by her veterinarian. I recommend to call her veterinarian and let them know what you saw at home. The doctor may want to administer diphenhydramine prior to her next round of vaccines just in case it was a vaccine reaction. Keep Kitana quiet today and monitor her closely. A swollen face, swollen lips, red eyes, severe itching or difficulty breathing may all be symptoms of a vaccine reaction. An antihistamine, such as diphenhydramine (Benadryl), can be given but only under the advice of your veterinary. Legally, we are prohibited from recommending you medicate her in the absence of a physical exam and a VPCR (veterinarian-patient-client relationship). If her symptoms persist or worsen, have her examined by your veterinarian or at the nearest veterinary ER.

Hello and thank you for contacting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. I suspect that the tablet got stuck in the throat or esophagus but then it got dislodged. As long as Willow is acting normal now and she is not gagging, vomiting or heaving there is no need to take her to your vets right away. However, I would suggest to give her a small drink of water immediately after she takes a tablet to avoid this problem in the future.
