My puppy ate tuna, is sick, vomiting, and very tired. What to do?

The tuna itself isn't harmful, so I suspect he vomited mostly because it was an unfamiliar food for him that may have been too rich or salty. Keep an eye on him for any signs of increasing illness, diarrhea, more vomiting, lethargy, refusal to eat his evening meal, anything like that means he needs to be seen by your vet right away.

I would just give him a small dose of plain white boneless skinless chicken and white rice to help settle his tummy. If he is acting lethargic or continues to have vomiting or diarrhea, I would have a vet take a look at him. Small dogs like him can quickly get dehydrated. Hello, and thanks for your question about Kitty. Tuna is generally a pretty safe thing for a dog to eat, and I think chances are Kitty will be fine. However, any time a dog gets into something they're not used to, or a fattier than usual meal, it's possible that it could trigger some GI upset. As long as Kitty remains bright and playful with a normal appetite, then she should do just fine and the minimal stool production doesn't worry me. However, if her appetite drops, she seems lethargic, or starts vomiting then I'd have her looked at by the vet in case she is developing pancreatitis. Hope this helps!

For any GI upset, a bland diet (such as white rice and plain boiled white meat chicken) that is easily digestible is a good option. If chicken isn't an option for her, very lean ground beef browned in a skillet with no oil is another good option. If she continues vomiting, doesn't want to eat or otherwise starts acting ill, then I would recommend having her evaluated by her regular veterinarian. Good luck!
