My dog ate a pineapple core. Should I be worried about obstruction?

Just monitor her over the next 24-48 hours for any vomiting, lethargy, not eating. If you notice any of those then take her to your vet for an exam.

You can monitor her closely for signs consistent with a gastrointestinal obstruction such as vomiting, nausea, inappetence and abdominal pain. If any of these signs are observed, have her evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment as those may be indications of an obstruction. Unfortunately without seeing Cozy in person, I can't say for certain she will be ok. This may pass without problem, but it could cause an obstruction. If you see vomiting, diarrhea, anorexia, an inability to pass poop, or lethargy, have her seen by a vet immediately. Best of luck.

While it is unlikely to cause an intestinal obstruction, the splinters from the wood may get lodged in his gums. I recommend keeping a close eye on Hachi for signs such as lethargy, loss of appetite, or vomiting as these may be signs of an obstruction. You can prevent Hachi from chewing furniture by making sure he has plenty of teething toys available and by appropriately disciplining him when he does chew on the furniture. At this point, it is likely safe to keep an eye on Echo, but he should be evaluated by a veterinarian if he starts vomiting, has diarrhea (especially if there is blood or mucus) or trouble defecating, or stops eating/appears lethargic. These can be signs that the teething ring has created a blockage in his intestines, and it may need to be removed. It is also possible that Echo will defecate pieces of the ring within the next few days, which is normal. I would recommend feeding him normally, but not giving him any of the teething rings for the next few days. Good luck with your new puppy!

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! I don't think you need to bring her in. I think that the pineapple being orange has to do with in being in the stomach. And since the stool is brown inside that is normal. Just watch her closely for any diarrhea or continued vomiting with or with out blood. And If she isn't acting normal or not eating then I would have her seen. Good luck!
