My 13lb dog ate ibuprofen. Is 1.85mg safe? Should I see a vet?

Hi. I gave my dog 1.85 mg of ibuprofen yesterday. She is 13lbs. Will she be ok or should I see a vet

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! While this would be within the therapeutic index and it is supposed to be safe, this medication is not commonly used for pain control in dogs as it is not well-studied. Also, I would avoid using medications without a veterinary prescription. For now, she will likely be fine. Have a good Sunday!

    That's not good that Luna ate an ibuprofen. It has a very narrow safe margin, and while the amount she ate is within a dose, I can't say for certain she will be ok. I'd take her into a vet now to get checked out. Best of luck.
