My 9-month Maltipoo ate grass, has gurgling tummy. Is he okay?

Dogs may [eat grass](https://www.petcoach.co/article/top-3-reasons-why-dogs-eat-grass) for several reasons. The most common are boredom, nutritional deficiencies or having an upset stomach. Given the symptoms described, your dog may have GI distress. If he is behaving normally otherwise, you may be able to [manage him at home](https://www.petcoach.co/article/how-to-treat-your-dogs-upset-stomach). Try withholding food for 12-24 hours. Slowly reintroduce small amounts of water and a bland diet of boiled chicken and rice. If there is no improvement, have him physically examined by your veterinarian.

If Blue is not vomiting or having diarrhea, is eating normally, has a normal energy and no abdominal pain I wouldn't be concerned about the noises. You could try adding a probiotic (available at most pet stores and online) to his food to see if this makes a difference and seek veterinary care if he does start vomiting/diarrhea/lethargy/pain.

Hello, I am so sorry for your concerns about Abu. Gas distension in the gut can be very uncomfortable at the least, & sometimes very painful. If you have some simethicone ( Gas-X ), you can give him about 50mg, & then no food for a minimum of 6-12 hours. Water is OK. The Simethicone can be repeated in 6 hours if necessary. Watch for any progression of signs, such as retching/vomiting, or noticeable abdominal bloating. Your pup may also be getting ready to develop diarrhea. If any of these develop, or he just does not seem to be improving, please see your veterinarian as soon as you can. I hope all is well soon. Take care.

There could be many things that are causing this in Loki. Less likely a foreign body especially since he bounces back right after vomiting. It can be viral related or just a gastrointestinal upset. We always are concerned about Parvo in an unvaccinated puppy since he is only 9 weeks but this is less likely if he is energetic and has no diarrhea. He can always have intestinal parasites especially in a young puppy. I would recommend a stool check, deworming, a bland diet and an antacid as long as everything else is ok. Keep an eye on his stools - you may be seeing some diarrhea in the next day or two. I recommend feeding him small amounts of bland food today (white rice and boiled lowfat chicken). If you see any further vomiting, if his appetite decreases, or if diarrhea shows up, then I recommend bringing him in to the vet to be evaluated. He may need some supportive GI meds to turn around, or this could be the first sign of something more serious, such as a foreign body (something stuck in his GI tract), pancreatitis, etc. Hope this helps and he feels better soon!

I am sorry Dozer threw up last night. Grass can definitely upset his stomach. I would make sure he doesn't eat anymore of it. As long as he is energetic and otherwise normal I wouldn't worry too much about a one time throw up. If this continues then I would recommend bringing him to a veterinarian. Hi there. It sounds like Bear just has a gastrointestinal upset. It could be from a parasite or something that he ate and wasn’t supposed to. I would recommend having him seen by your bed so they can prescribe something to settle his stomach and make him feel better right away. Puppies can get dehydrated and hypoglycemic when they don’t eat so senior bed as soon as you can would be a good idea. Best to you and Bear.
