My chihuahua ate a condom. Can I use peroxide to make her vomit?

In a dog this small a condom could become stuck in her intestines causing an obstruction. If she just ate it you can try to induce vomiting with hydrogen peroxide. She can have one teaspoon. If she does not vomit or if she ate it more than one hour ago then you should get her to your vet.

I would not recommend inducing vomiting at home - hydrogen peroxide can cause gastric ulcers. A single tampon could pass in a 78 pound dog, but tampons can also get stuck in the gastrointestinal tract. I would recommend contacting your vet to see if they would recommend inducing vomiting with a medication.

You will need to call your Vet for instructions to induce vomiting. Hydrogen peroxide causes vomiting by irritating the stomach lining and can cause inflammation of the esophagus. Oh no, that was naughty of Phoebe to eat the pad! I do not recommend inducing her to vomit at home with peroxide (H2O2). The reason is that H2O2 can and does cause severe esophagitis and gastritis, often worse than the initial problem, so it's always preferred to advise emergency care. Also, we have no way of knowing whether the dog is debilitated and has a greater chance of aspirating. The best thing to do is have her seen by an ER vet now to safely induce vomiting with a shot to get the pad out of her to prevent an obstruction. Otherwise, you can watch her for signs of obstruction with include vomiting, anorexia, lethargy, diarrhea, and/or constipation. If you see any of those signs, she will need to see a vet immediately.

I certainly wouldn't worry about inducing vomiting after just one peanut butter cup. The induction of vomiting poses more risks than the peanut butter cup does! Inducing vomiting at home with hydrogen peroxide comes with the risk of aspiration and significant irritation to the esophagus and stomach. The wrapper will pass without a problem. There isn't enough chocolate in a peanut butter cup to cause any toxicity concerns. Worst case scenario, Jack may develop an upset stomach with a bit of vomiting and diarrhea. If he does, you can offer a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken and white rice for a few days before gradually transitioning back to his normal food. Hi, sorry to hear Myra is eating socks. It is a bad habit to get into because it can cause an obstruction if not treated. Hydrogen peroxide can be used to induce vomiting. A 20lb dog can get up to roughly 3 doses to try to induce vomiting. it also helps if you give her some food so the food can stick to the sock and come up easier. Sometimes dogs will continue to vomit for an hour or so after getting the peroxide. Make sure the bottle of peroxide is newly and has bubbles. This works best. Also be ready to clear to mouth out if she gets food or the sock stuck in it. Vomiting can be induce up to 4 hours after the ingestion of the foreign material. It's probably about half and half in my experience that it passes or needs surgery. check her stools for the sock if you cannot get her to vomit it up. If you notice vomiting, diarrhea or not wanting to eat, she needs to see a vet. This may not occur for a few days after she ingests the sock. God luck, I hope this helps!
