My dog ate chocolate and wrappers 24 hours ago. Should I see a vet?

That's a fair amount of chocolate, and if any of those chocolates were dark chocolate, that is very concerning. Dark chocolate is the most toxic type, and takes the least amount to cause toxicity. I would take your dog into a vet immediately, as they can give her a shot to induce vomiting. They can also give her activated charcoal. Best of luck, I hope this helps!

Oh no, it's not good that MJ ate an entire bag of Reese's cups! While one doesn't contain a lot of chocolate, an entire bag of them may be enough to cause chocolate toxicity, one sign of which is vomiting. Because of this and his currently symptoms, I would take him into a vet immediately for treatment. He needs decontamination procedures in case he is suffering from chocolate toxicity. There is also the potential that enough foils could cause a GI blockage, and that needs to be ruled in or out as well. Either take him into your normal vet or find an ER vet clinic or vet on call if your normal vet is closed. Best of luck!

If this happened recently, ie within the past 2 hours or so, you should take him to a vet for inducing vomiting. If this has been longer then you need to watch your dog for a tummy ache, diarrhea, vomiting, lethargy, as he could get pancreatitis from the food he is not used to. Also the wrappers could cause trouble. Watch his feces, wrappers should show up as they pass through the intestinal canal. If he shows any signs of discomfort, please take him to a veterinarian or Pet ER.

If Kai is throwing up and not eating or drinking, then she needs to be seen as soon as possible. Because she got into the garbage, she could have an intestinal blockage from the wrapper, or have pancreatitis. Both of these are serious conditions that can be life threatening. If she is still eating and drinking and otherwise acting normally, then you can wait until your normal clinic is open. He probably has an upset stomach from eating the candy bar. Monitor him for vomiting, diarrhea, etc. and have him examined by a vet if you notice anything abnormal. Your vet can prescribe medications to help.

There's not much to be done but treat the symptoms after more than 12 hours. A visit to your vet would be prudent if your dog ate a large quantity and is having tremors/twitches or an irregular/fast heartbeat. If he is acting normally otherwise, withhold food for 12-24 hours. Allow small amounts of water or unflavored PediaLyte. Resume feeding a bland diet (boiled boneless, skinless chicken breasts and plain white rice) in small, frequent amounts. Feed until the stool is normal, then transition slowly to the regular diet. If the diarrhea doesn't resolve, see your veterinarian.

Both candies contain chocolate, but not that much and Jim is a big dog so I am not expecting Chocolate toxicity in his case but it could cause vomiting, diarrhea and constipation, you will need to keep an eye on his stools in the next few days.
