My Shih Tzu ate chocolate 24 hours ago. No symptoms. Is she poisoned?

A visit to your vet would be prudent if your dog ate a large quantity and is having tremors/twitches or an irregular/fast heartbeat. If he is acting normally otherwise, withhold food for 12-24 hours. OK, I understand the communication error now.... The fact that she ate is a good sign. I wouldn't be too worried if she's just a little off. She would have to at-least be vomiting for me to be concerned. The dose of chocolate she got is quite low, so I wouldn't expect much from it. If 12 hours goes by and she hasn't vomited, then she should be fine and I wouldn't worry about the chocolate anymore.

With chocolate toxicity, symptoms of it appear within one to four hours, so given that it's been six days, I would have expected to see serious symptoms from it by now if the dose Baby ate was enough to be fatal. In a senior dog who "isn't herself," there's always the chance it's due to a serious medical illness such as cancer, kidney failure, heart failure, or liver failure among other causes. I would have Baby seen by a vet as soon as possible for a heath check due to that.
