My dog ate a bone. How to help with bone shards in intestines?

The only way to fix an intestinal rupture is through surgery. The vet will confirm this via x-ray and physical exam findings and then in surgery the hole would be found and then sutured closed. The biggest concern is that the rib bones can have sharp edges and may cause an intestinal perforation, or they could become stuck and cause a blockage in her intestines. Signs of these problems would include repeated episodes of vomiting, acting lethargic, and not wanting to eat - if she develops any of these symptoms, she needs to see a vet immediately as she may need emergency surgery to remove the bones. If she is acting normal right now apart from some runny stool, you can try feeding her a bland diet of plain boiled chicken and rice for the next 2-3 days to help settle her stomach and get things back to normal. If this doesn't help, or if she develops any other symptoms such as the ones I listed above, you will need to take her to the vet right away for an exam and treatment.

There is nothing you can give her to get it out, usually surgery is indicated to have the bone removed. if fore some reason this isn't possible you need to hope that the bone will actually remain in the stomach because if it will move to the intestines it's likely to cause a blockage which will require emergency surgery. if the bone stays in the stomach and she isn't vomiting, you need to feed her more often small quantities of food, it can take 1-2 weeks until the bone gets digested. if she is vomiting she will need anti sickness medication from the vet.
