My puppy ate bat guano from hermit crab food. Should I worry?

Watch him closely for signs of gastrointestinal upset such as vomiting, nausea and/or diarrhea and have him evaluated by a veterinarian if these occur and persist. Best of luck!

The wood litter typically is not large enough to cause any major problems and if she chewed on them and made them even smaller. I would monitor for now and if you begin to notice any symptoms such as lethargy, vomiting, abdominal pain, etc., then I would recommend taking her in to be examined by a veterinarian so that the most appropriate diagnostic and treatment recommendations can be made. It is very unlikely that this will be a problem. She may vomit or have some diarrhea, as gastroenteritis (inflammation of the GI tract) may result. If she vomits more than once, or if the diarrhea lasts longer than a day, is very watery, or becomes bloody, or if she becomes lethargic, take her to your vet. Hello and thank you for contacting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. Asbestos is dangerous to dogs as much as for human. Chronic exposure can lead to development of a malignant tumor. However, a single exposure to one piece of asbestos will not be harmful and your Bailey will be fine.

Eating a rat likely will not cause problems unless the rat was poisoned with rat poison or had already been dead for a while. Your puppy may get a bit of diarrhea or start vomiting. If that happens, start feeding her some white boiled rice with boneless boiled white chicken meat for a day and then slowly introduce her normal food again. Watch his gums for color (they should be pink, not white or bluish) and little specks of blood (petechiae). If her gums turn white or you see petechiae within the next few days, you need to take Kilo to a vet right away, as the rat may have ingested (and died from) anticoagulant rat poison and Kilo would need to be treated with Vitamin K1 tablets.
