My 9-year-old diabetic Lab has a mouth sore. What could it be?

The picture unfortunately does not actually show the area but I would recommend having any ongoing lumps checked by a vet, especially in an older dog as ulcerated masses can occasionally turn into tumors and removal is often recommended

Hello. It would be a good idea to have an exam done by your vet to take a look at that area. That appears to be a growth or tumor and not just a sore. There is nothing you can do yourself to make that get getter. There are many types of skin growths, some are benign and some are cancerous. Your veterinarian can guide you in deciding if surgery to remove that growth is recommended.

Judging by the color and the fact that it is in the mouth, it is likely a melanoma, the most common oral tumor in dogs. This is often differentiated by a test called a fine needle aspirate (FNA) which is a pain free, inexpensive and easy procedure which in most cases will help reach a diagnosis. Sometimes a biopsy is needed for a definitive diagnosis. I recommend that you have her evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. I am really hoping for something benign. Those look like growths or warts from a viral infection. Your vet can take a sample of one and see if there is a secondary infection associated with it. Sometimes the virus can pass on its own. All you can do is make sure she is eating still and softens hr food if needed

It looks like Decoy most likely has developed an ulcer. The type of ulcer he has is something more commonly seen in cats, but can be seen in dogs on occasion. The typical treatment for it is steroids and antibiotics, which will have to be acquired through a veterinarian. While at the vet, they will also be able to examine it to make sure it is not a growth or mass of some sort. This would be extremely unusual in such a young dog so I wouldn't worry too much about it. The ulcers can be somewhat resistant and take a while to get rid of, but in the end they are usually something perfectly treatable.

This looks like an epulis, a fairly common benign tumor in dogs. It occurs more often in short faced dog breeds. I recommend getting it checked by your vet to determine what kind of growth it is and what needs to be done about it. Your vet will do an exam, lab work, possibly imaging depending on if you vet believes they need it. Based on these results your vet will be better able to tell you what is going on and the best course of treatment.
