The amount of theobromine your pet has been exposed to is relatively low but he is showing some worrying signs of toxicity, for that reason i strongly recommend that you take him to the vet ASAP just in case he needs supportive treatment to go through this phase of potential toxicity.

Well, the good news is that he doesn't appear to be showing signs of toxicity. The ability for the cake to be toxic depends on the size of the cocoa content of the cake. If it's a relatively light chocolate cake, then this would not be enough to cause toxicity. If it was an unusually dark chocolatey cake, then this could be a concern. If you notice any of these signs, then it's best to take Jasper to a vet for treatment/monitoring. I understand money is a concern, but in this case it would be life-threatening, so I would see about borrowing money, or using credit. Unfortunately, there is not much that can be done at home for this. It's best to make sure he has plenty of water and that you check him every four hours for any signs of toxicity. That amount of chocolate could certainly be a concern for as small a dog as Asta depending on the amount of chocolate in the cake and type of chocolate. 2oz of bakers chocolate would be enough to be potentially fatal, but she would have had to eating about 8oz of mild chocolate to be getting to a similar reaction. That said, usually issues are seen within about 12 hours and include increased heart rate, hyperactivity, vomiting, diarrhea, tremors, seizures, and death. Increased urination is not an issue I would associate with chocolate toxicity. If she is otherwise completely normal, you don't need to anything else. But if she seems off, has tremors or seizures, she needs to see a emergency veterinarian right away. You need to take Ziva into the vet immediately, this is a medical emergency. It sounds like she is suffering from chocolate toxicity, and if the muffins were made with cocoa powder, that is very serious as it's the most poisonous type of chocolate to dogs. She needs veterinary attention now, please bring her into an ER vet or find a vet on call to see her ASAP.

I’m so sorry to hear about Zeke! I worry less about the chocolate content and more about the butter content triggering some pancreatitis. I expect Zeke will have some vomiting and diarrhea. If the vomiting occurs more than 3 or 4 times or for longer than 8 hours, or if Zeke is not wanting to eat by dinner time tomorrow, it’s time to see the vet. The diarrhea may last for 1-3 days but if it’s profuse or lasts more than 3 days (or worsens with time instead of improving), it’s also time to see the vet. In terms of feeding: I would not feed anything right now and if vomitjng starts, pull food and water. If there was chocolate in it a check up would be needed otherwise I would suggest to withhold food for the next 8-12 hours and then start feeding with a bland diet based on boiled chicken and rice in small portion every 6 hours for the following 48hours. Then gradually reintroduce the normal diet over 5 days. I would definitively recommend a veterinary check up if you notice diarrhoea, vomiting, lethargy or inappetence.
