I would think Wolverine could be treated like most puppies except when it comes to verbal commands and training. Since he is deaf, when you are rewarding him for using the potty outside, stand directly in front of him so he can get his reward and associate it with the behavior. There are hearing aids for dogs, but they are rarely used. This is likely because dogs do just fine deaf, and can learn sign language to follow commands. You can ask around your area to see if there are vets who may use hearing aids. Best of luck.

It can sometimes be difficult to tell with puppies if they have a true hearing problem, or if they simply get absorbed in what they are doing and don't register sounds around them :) You can try clapping your hands behind his head when he isn't looking, or making a sudden loud sound like clanging pots together - if he doesn't react at all to these things, it's likely that he may be deaf.
