What's the best way to clean my dog after walks without bathing?

8 weeks old is the minimum age to begin bathing a puppy. Use a pet approved shampoo for puppies sensitive skin. She can be bathed every 6-8 weeks. You can use plain, unscented baby wipes or pet wipes to spot clean her in between baths. If you bathe her at night, dry her thoroughly and keep her war to prevent chill. It is best to bath her early in the day so she has ample time to dry off and doesn't go to sleep damp.

However, sometimes dogs with skin allergies and bathed very frequently and it actually helps them. So you may need to monitor Bear and see if frequent bathing causes any dryness or redness to his skin. There are several products on the market that are more like dry shampoo or mousse that you could brush through Bear's coat to eliminate some of the dirt and odor. If necessary you can also bathe Bear every one to two weeks, but please do it less frequently if you notice any dryness or redness of the skin related to bathing.

Usually maximum one bath every two weeks would be enough to keep her clean. Hypoallergenic (oatmeal) or specific shampoo designed for dogs should be used. I wouldn't bathe Griffin again even with a soothing shampoo as that will likely just dry out the skin more. Giving some time for the body's natural oils to return is best. You can use vitamin E or fish oils as a supplement to help with skin dryness, as well as making sure you don't bathe Griffin more than every 2-3 weeks. If he gets dirty in between, pet or baby wipes can remove dirt without irritation to the skin.

I typically recommend bathing no more than once every week or every 2 weeks unless there is a skin condition requiring frequent medicated baths. If Luna’s skin is not becoming dried out or irritated the frequency of bathing and the type of shampoo you are using is probably fine. If Luna is itchy, her skin is red or flakey, or if she has an unusual odor, she may have a skin condition. If this is the case she needs to have an examination done by your veterinarian to address her skin issues. Once a week is probably okay although bathing this often may lead to dry skin. If Coconis not getting dirty you may want to just use the towel and bathe every 3-4 weeks. I would not recommend bathing more often than weekly.
