Chow Chow puppy prices: Does paying more guarantee a healthier dog?
I love Chows, I have one myself and think they are the best dogs! You won't necessarily get a better quality puppy if you pay more for it. Some breeders will charge more depending on their expenses and what procedures are done on the puppies as well as the dam and sire. What's most important is to find out what tests have been done on the dam and sire. That will determine if your puppy will be better quality or not. The tests I'm referring to are for potential hereditary problems. In the Chow, this would be for the eyes, hips, and joints. I will include a link below about Chows and tests they should have done before breeding to make sure that their puppies are as healthy as possible. Ask the breeder if they've done any of these tests, and ask to see the paperwork. If they haven't done the tests, do not get a puppy from them. Best of luck, I hope this helps!
