What vaccines are required for dog grooming and how much do they cost?

He is quite handsome. It looks like he is due for his distemper/parvo vaccine and Bordetella vaccine. He will be due for his rabies at the beginning of March. In order to keep all of his vaccines together, I would go ahead and have all of his vaccines updated before having him groomed. I hope this helps!

Petco requires animals in our care to meet certain vaccination requirements based on age and type of animal. All required vaccinations must be up to date. See the table below for required vaccinations. Required vaccinations for grooming: ----------------------------------- ### Dog - **Under 16 weeks:** Puppy Starter (Parvovirus, Hepatitis, Distemper). Puppies must have completed at least 2 sets of shots before being admitted into the Grooming Salon. - **16 weeks and older:** Rabies: All dogs must wait 24 hours after receiving any vaccination before being admitted into the Grooming Salon. - **New York City:** requires that every dog sheltered, maintained, harbored, fed, watered or groomed be vaccinated for rabies, distemper, hepatitis, para-influenza, and parvovirus within past three years and for Bordetella within the past six months. - Due to vaccination limitations with Wolf hybrids, these pets will not be accepted for any services/events in any Petco facility. This includes, but is not limited to, Grooming, Dog Training, Pooch, Adoption events, Veterinary Clinics, etc. ### Cat - **Under 16 weeks:** Parvovirus (Panleukopenia), Herpesvirus-1 (Viral Rhinotracheitis), Calicivirus, First Year Boosters - **16 weeks and older:** Rabies **Required Vaccinations for Dog Training:** - Under 16 weeks: puppy starter (Parvovirus, Hepatitis, Distemper) - 16 weeks and older: rabies - Note: puppies must have at least their first set of Puppy shots a minimum of two weeks prior to the start of the class. **Acceptable Proof of Vaccinations:** - Vaccination Record from the Veterinarian's office, rescue group, or breeder - Typed letter on Veterinary Clinics letterhead. Letter must state the vaccination(s) given to the pet and must be signed by the Veterinarian who administered the vaccination(s). - If the pet parent cannot provide proof of vaccinations, ask for the Veterinarian's phone number and call them while the pet parent is present and request that they fax a letter (on Veterinary Clinic's letterhead ) or a copy of the pet's medical records showing current vaccinations. - A rabies tag on the pet's collar is not acceptable proof of vaccination. - Petco does not accept for any reason any pets where the pet parent administered the rabies vaccination themselves. All vaccinations must be administered or supervised by a Veterinarian. - Proof of vaccinations is not required for use of the Self-Service Pet Wash - Petco does not require vaccinations in our Hawaii stores. Hello. At the very least, Egypt will need to have a rabies vaccination 24-48 hours before allowed in for grooming. Since she is still young, I would also recommend she receive a distemper combination vaccination & be vaccinated against Bordatella, also known as kennel cough. Grooming costs vary from place to place, so it is best to call wherever you decide you want to have her groomed to discuss all options & services available. She is a pretty girl!!! The most important vaccination (and one required by law) is the Rabies vaccine. This is essential. The second most important vaccine is the Distemper vaccine, which is often a combo vaccine sometimes called a DHPP (protects against distemper, canine hepatitis, parvovirus and parainfluenza). These vaccines are considered the "core vaccines" for dogs. Every dog should have them. The rest will depend on her lifestyle. I also recommend the Leptosporosis vaccine for dogs if they spend time outdoors in areas with creeks/puddles/ponds because this disease is a bacteria transmitted to dogs by contaminated water (rodents who have the disease urinate and it contaminates the water and the dogs can acquire it this way). The Lepto vaccine requries a series of 2 booster 3 to 4 weeks apart if she has never had it before. Other vaccines you may consider would include Lyme if your dog is outdoors and exposed to ticks and you are in a lyme endemic area, Bordetella also known as Kennel Cough if you ever take her to the park/groomer/kennel/dog classes/out for walks in areas with other dogs. Canine Influenza is another vaccine I recommend for dogs that come into contact with many other dogs/areas with many other dogs such as kennels or dog shows/events. That vaccine will also require a series of 2 vaccines several weeks apart if she has never had it before.

The fact that she has been ok so far does not mean that that will continue to be the case. Boi will need his DHPPi (distemper, hepatitis, parvovirus, parainfluenza) combination vaccine as well as rabies (it's required by law in Florida). He will need to series of each vaccine given four weeks apart in order for him to be fully vaccinated. I will put a link below to the Vetco clinic's prices for vaccines.
