Why does my Chihuahua scratch his ear so much in bed? Is it a habit?

I would recommend having Frank examined by a veterinarian. The vet can look into Frank's ear to make sure nothing is stuck in the ear canal and to see if there are signs of an ear infection. It's probably an ear infection, often it cannot be seen from the outside. Ear infections are very common in dogs, it is usually caused by either yeast or bacterial disease. the treatment is usually simple and straightforward, you will have to take him to the vet and get the ears checked, then a prescription ear drops will be prescribed according to the infectious agent.

Poor Major! Excessive scratching of one or both ears is a common sign of an ear infection. You will need prescription ear meds from your veterinarian in order to treat this problem, so I would recommend taking him in for an exam when you are able to.

With recent moving and travels they could have been exposed to fleas and if they are scratching they could have a flea allergy. You may not always find a live flea so it's not always easy to rule out. If you moved far, there could be an environmental allergy- something they have never been exposed to before. Also, changes in humidity and pressure can cause scratching. If their skin is red or they are keeping you up at night with the scratching I would recommend seeing a vet. If this is a recent change I would wonder if he could have an allergy to something in the environment since your move, or if the new location could have an external parasite such as fleas that he has now been affected by. I suspect Coffee has an ear infection, which could be caused by yeast or bacteria. Leaving this untreated can lead to hearing loss, so it's very important you take him into the vet in the morning. The vet can diagnose if he does have an ear infection, what is causing it, and can treat him. I hope this hopes!

This is probably an allergic reaction due to an insect bite or a plant outside. those reactions tend to resolve within 48 hours without treatment. if the itchiness becomes too severe or if your dog is lethargic, take Chico to the vet in order to get an antihistamine or steroid injection which will stop the allergic reaction.
