Should I worry about my chihuahua's red, itchy bump near her butt?

This could just be a cyst from the looks of it. Monitor it for the next week or so to see if it spontaneously regresses. IF it does not resolve on its own, or seems to bother Tia at any point, then its best to have your vet take a look at it. If it gets bigger it can then be sampled to determine what kind of growth it is, so that we know whether to worry about it or not. I do hope that Tia's growth resolves soon! This bump could be a wart, a cyst, a benign tumor, or a malignant tumor. Any suspicious lumps should be examined by the vet. The vet can perform a test called a fine needle aspirate on it. To do this, the vet sticks a small needle into the bump to get a sample of it's cells, and examines the cells on a slide under a microscope. It's usually painless to the animal, and relatively quick to perform. I would take Pedro into the vet tomorrow to have the bump examined and diagnosed. Once it is diagnosed, the vet can recommend a treatment.

This could be a local site of inflammation from an insect bite or sting. This would especially make sense if it popped up within a day and was irritating/itchy to Pasta. It could also be a small skin tumor, which would be more concerning. I would recommend monitoring it for the about a week to see if it goes away. Hello! That bump looks a little swollen and red, and it could simply be a wound. I would clean the area with warm water and antiseptic soap, and keep an eye on it. If the swelling gets larger, Chiky starts having trouble passing feces, she starts scooting on her behind, licking the area a lot, and/or you see pus, then I would take her into the vet. In that case, I would be concerned that the wound may be infected, or it could be something else causing the swelling such as infected and impacted anal sacs or intestinal worms. Your Chihuahua has to see a vet as soon as possible. It is not normal that her body is red/purplish all over, and it could be that she is experiencing bleeding under the skin due to a bleeding or clot disorder. In addition, if she isn't spayed, her oversized nipple could be due to a mammary tumor. The large bump on her paw could be due to a cyst, benign tumor, or malignant tumor. I'm very concerned that her body is red/purplish and is getting worse, and she has to see a vet now. This occurs when the anal glands do not fully empty during the act of defecation resulting in inflammation, impaction and infection. Have her examined by your veterinarian for confirmation and treatment. This may include sedation followed by lancing, draining and flushing the abscess. Antibiotics and pain management will likely be indicated. Topical treatment may not be sufficient. An e-collar (cone) can be used to prevent licking until she sees the doctor.
