How to know if my adopted dog has all her necessary vaccines?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Female | spayed | 10 lbs

Hello. I have an 11 month old Chihuahua/pug mix that I recently adopted. The person who gave me the dog only have me her rabies record and her spayed documents. How can I know if she's had all of her other vaccines?

I would be suspicious that if the person you adopted Lucy from didn't give you those other vaccine records that she has not had them. They should have been included with her rabies record. You can ask that person for them, or for permission to speak to the vet who administered the rabies vaccines to see if she received her other vaccines. If they refuse to give you that information, it's likely she hasn't had her other vaccines, and I would take Lucy into the vet to have them done.
