My bulldog puppy ate too much, is bloated and sleepy. Is she okay?

I would offer her the normal amount of food in tiny amounts over the next day or two. As in divide her daily ration into six feedings. Allow her plenty of water, and you can even add water to the food. If it is food bloat, she should feel better tomorrow. If she isn’t interested in food tonight or she tries retching or vomiting, she needs to see a vet ASAP.

It may be that Teddy just ate too much. Keep a close eye on it, and if he starts trying to throw up but can't, has excessive drooling, starts pacing, or is anxious, have him seen by a vet immediately.

If she is resting quietly, not vomiting, and having no breathing issues then she is probably fine for you to just monitor her now. I strongly suggest you don't feed her anything for 24 hours but make sure she has plenty of water available to drink. If she is having any troubles then she needs to go to the emergency vet. I do think something is wrong and should be investigated as soon as possible. I generally recognize illness as more serious if it's causing a very food motivated dog to stop eating and if there are lethargy and breathing changes. Bulldogs are more predisposed to developing aspiration pneumonia as well so this is a big concern if Layla continues vomiting. I would have her seen by a veterinarian ASAP.

You can monitor him at home for the next 2-3 hours as long as he is not extremely bloated. Eating too much kibbles is more dangerous that eating wet food but I assume that at his age he ate some wet food only ? Some dogs are very thirsty after eating too much food but please do not offer him a lot of water as this may cause further stomach distension. So, your puppy may be sleepy and lethargic for a the next couple of hours then he should get better. However, if he looks in pain and the abdomen is hard and very bloated you should contact your local vets to get help.

Bloat usually cause discomfort, abdominal pain, abdominal tension. An animal with pathologic bloat would not sleep and lay on the back quite comfortably. I don't think there is anything to be worried about at this stage. I would monitor him for the next couple of hours, but no further action is needed.

First of all, Peewee is beyond adorable! Overeating can certainly lead to one episode of vomiting followed by a good nap. If Peewee wakes up from his nap and is acting normally without further vomiting, there is likely no need for concern. However, if he seems uncomfortable, vomits more, or is lethargic, he may need to be evaluated by his vet. Odds are that he will be just fine after a big dinner! :-)
