My dog is aggressive. Should I use artificial insemination to breed her?

Artificial insemination typically requires the supervision and expertise of a veterinary specialist called a theriogenologist. Insemination involves the pairing of a suitable male and female, and then close monitoring of the female's reproductive cycle. As she nears ovulation, the male is brought in and stimulated to provide the material for insemination. The semen is then checked under microscope and tested for viability. However, in most situations you will have to resort to artificial insemination through your specialized veterinarian if you want to get the female pregnant. You're going to have statistically better success with AI - the specific technique used (vaginal vs cervical vs surgical insemination) will depend on the type and quality of semen you're using (fresh, chilled, or frozen), as well as the age and health history of the female. It sounds like you had good luck with natural breeding in the past, but AI is going to give you statistically better outcomes. Hi there. Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. If Gracie does not want to accept the male there is not much you can do about that. You cannot force her. You can try leashing her so she doesn't try to walk away from him or lay down but I would be surprised if this helps. Sometimes it is just that particular male she does not like. If there are other Dogue breeders around maybe you should try another male. The only real suggestion I have at this point is to have the male's sperm collected and then inseminate Gracie via artificial insemination (AI). I don't know if your veterinarian is able to do this in Bangladesh so you will have to consult with them to see if this can be done. Pregnant dogs can be aggressive. I would separate Luka from the other dogs for now. As for the puppies, there is an increased risked of genetic issues from the inbreeding, but you won't know until the puppies are born. I would have her son neutered to prevent them from mating again. Best of luck.

There is no evidence that a female dog actually experiences an orgasm, so that is not a consideration where artificial inseminating a dog. The most important factor is that she is in heat at the time of insemination.
