Why isn't my Boston Terrier's runny nose and goopy eyes improving?

Other possible causes include a possible foreign body stuck in the nose or another part of the upper respiratory system. I would recommend that you have Sadie evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. If based on further history and physical examination it seems like allergies are more likely, medications such as Benadryl to be used on an as needed basis would be recommended. If a foreign body is suspected, further imaging such as with a CT scan may be pursued to confirm that. Hopefully, this is not anything serious. Good luck and have a great day!

Poor Wyatt! Cloudy discharge from the eyes and nose is usually caused by some type of upper respiratory infection. It sounds like he will probably need antibiotics to treat the problem, so I would recommend taking him to the vet for an exam today if possible. In the meantime, you can use a warm washcloth or cotton ball to gently wipe away the discharge as often as needed. This will not treat the underlying problem, but may help to make him a bit more comfortable until you are able to see the vet.

Brixton's eye does look irritated - this could be a papule and a sign of infection secondary to allergies or it might be a true skin growth or mass. I'd recommend having your vet examine her in person, particularly since her eye is irritated. You could use an e-collar or cone to prevent her from rubbing until you can see the vet.

That may a corneal ulceration/ injury and requires an immediate check up. Boston terrier are unfortunately predisposed to corneal injury and an immediate check up could confirm or rule out dangerous melting ulcers which may result in a perforation.

It is quite possible he has developed an eye ulcer with the pain and discharge. This should be assessed and treated by your vet as soon as possible to reduce the discomfort and minimize the risk of permanent scarring

Yes I would schedule a recheck if the discharge is still brown or yellow and hasn't started to resolve after a few days of antibiotics and other medications as it is possible there is something stuck in the nose causing irritation, or the infection requires more targeted medications. I would also make sure to keep Fray eating and drinking. You can also clear away any nasal discharge that is crusting around the nose to help keep it easier for her to breathe.

Closing the eye indicates pain the glossy blue look like indicates inflammation of the cornea. Possible causes are: infection, allergies, a corneal ulcer, glaucoma or uveitis. A vet needs to diagnose the underlying issue as each is treated differently. I wish Baylie a speedy recovery!
