How to give Beaphar Bone Builder powder and what's the right dose?

Once Bone is 5-6 weeks old start feeding him a commercial puppy food, like Purina puppy chow. If you are bottle feeding him with a puppy formula you can start mixing that with puppy food now. All commercial puppy foods are nutritionally balance. Over supplementing calcium can cause harm. I hope this helps!

I recommend giving the appetite stimulant a half hour before each meal. If he’s eating normally then I would give the Osteocare in the morning meal and the other in the evening meal. Too much calcium in large breed growing puppies is highly problematic. This can lead to serious bone defects and diseases processes including possible Hypertrophic Osteodrystrophy (HOD). I would highly recommend refraining from calcium milk bones at this frequency and perhaps only giving them 2-3 times a week, instead of everyday, just to ensure you aren't giving them in excess. A balanced puppy food which has been specially formulated to be a complete diet should not be supplemented as this can lead to dietary excess, which can also be harmful to bone development. Check that the puppy food is suitable for the age and breed type and if you have concerns about bone and joint development I recommend a full physical by your vet to determine which, if any, supplementation is required

Hi, thanks for using PetCoach! I do not recommend adding a calcium supplement to puppy food it can affect bone growth significantly in a puppy. I recommend stopping that immediately unless directed by your Vet. As for the fish oil, that is fine but how often depends on the brand you are using. Supplementing calcium will not change her bones and could even be harmful for joint development - if she has a slight build it is likely genetic. If she is underweight then weight gain might help with her appearance but it may not change the shape of her head or legs much.

It is never recommended to give puppies multi vitamins and calcium supplements. This will affect Fang's growth adversely, and it is not needed. A good quality puppy food will provide all the nutrients he needs. I also advise again feeding him Orijen. It's grain free, and vets are seeing a link between dogs developing dilated cardiomyopathy who are on grain free diets. The FDA is now investigating that link. Grain free food is a fad, grains are actually good for dogs. I'd feed him a puppy food from brands such as Royal Canin, Hill's Science Diet, Purina ProPlan, or Iams. I hope this helps!
