Seresto collars are water-resitant, so they remain effective following a bath (with or without shampoo treatment), or even after your dog goes for a swim. Therefore, there is no need to remove the collar for bathing. However, using a gentle, soap-free pet shampoo is recommend.

Under normal conditions, the collar's effectiveness should last for 8 months. In order to make sure it lasts this long, you shouldn't bathe your dog more than once per month.

Can I switch from K9 Advantix II to Seresto? Any side effects?

You can try a seresto collar after the 2 week application of an advantix. It is not for everyone as each bath starts the transcription process again so it decreases the 8 month time frame it is labeled to last. If you are worried above side effects, which can occur with any product, you may want to talk to your vet about monthly tablets or once every 3 month tablets that are for fleas and ticks now.

My cat had a flea bath yesterday. Can I put Seresto collar on today?

Yes, you can absolutely place the Seresto collar on Figgy after a flea and tick bath. If you are still seeing live fleas, it may also be worth giving him a dose of Capstar, which will kill the adult fleas quickly, providing a bit of relief. The Seresto collar works by using a slow, continuous release of medication onto the skin and fur - so as soon as you remove it, the level of medication on Prada's skin will immediately start to drop. The active ingredient (imidicloprid) also has a very high margin of safety in dogs, so it should be fine to go ahead and apply Advantage the same day that you remove the collar.

Typically with the seresto flea collar you do not need any other type of flea prevention. It does take about 24 hours for the collar to start to work. If Roscoe had fleas when you applied the collar i would also recommend giving a dawn dish soap bath and treating the environment. hope that helps
