If she was spayed recently it is possible she has a hormonal imbalance which leads her to seek her puppies and nursing behaviour - hormonal treatment can help. Providing active play options and a buddy dog can also help to settle her to her new routine and environment and may also help

She may have a little sadness at the loss of her sister, but it should be very temporary (a week would be usual). She may not be her active self; she may even refuse to eat for a day or two. Hopefully you brought with you a few familiar items with you from Honey's previous home, like a blanket or bed. Make sure she has access to that. Offer her plenty of cuddles and attention. Offer her usual food and treats from your hand, to help gain her trust. If Honey is used to a crate, make sure you use a similar one in your home. Place her bed in there and she should quickly be drawn to it as a place of comfort and safety. I'd also look into a product called Adaptil, which is a canine pheromone that can help reduce stress and anxiety in new environments. Give it time. It is a difficult phase for Honey right now, but she should gradually get used to her new home and learn to love her new family, if you are patient, consistent, and offer her a nurturing loving home! Time will be your best friend here. Dogs do not have memories like we do, and after about a week she should be back to her old self again. I am so sorry to hear about your puppy! You should think seriously about this before (or if) you decide to get another puppy. By the way, six weeks is too early to separate a puppy from its litter. They learn such important lessons as bite inhibitions from their littermates. I would suggest taking Luna to an obedience course so she can get used to being around other dogs . . . and so you can see how she responds to them. Finally, if you are deterined to get another dog, do not just bring the dog home, It will make Luna feel territorial against the "intruder." Instead, bring Luna to a neutral place (where she's never been before) and introduce them there. That way, Luna will feel as if she is bringing her new buddy home instead of feeling that the puppy is something to defend against. Good luck!
