Why is my 2-week-old puppy sick with diarrhea, yellow poop, bloated stomach?

Hello, Arlo should still be fed some formula in addition to wet or moistened dry puppy food. This could be in addition to the rice and boiled egg. I would substitute the mild for formula. The liv.52 syrup is no necessary if you are feeding him a balanced diet. The stools may continue to be soft and yellow if the diet is not consistent, if he has any parasites (as he is still too young to be dewormed) or if the meal is hard to digest (too much fat or fiber). Try adding some puppy food and formula for two weeks and see how he responds. Best of luck and hope this helps.

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Poor Harley! He is a young guy and I don't like young puppy's to be sick for that many days. I recommend you have him seen by your Vet today before we get deep in to the weekend. I would stop the yogurt since that seemed to have either worsen things or triggered the diarrhea. Most dogs and cats are actually lactose intolerant and dairy products can commonly trigger diarrhea. I would also consider getting him off the lactol. At 5 weeks he should be weaned and on puppy food. I would start mixing the lactol in to canned puppy food and see if that stars to improve his stool. When you take him to the Vet bring a stool sample to check for intestinal parasites. Good luck!

Poor Chaw! Unfortunately it's impossible to know the cause of the diarrhea by looks alone. The diarrhea could be due to many conditions including a change in diet, bacterial over growth, parasites or other even parvovirus. Chaw is very small and I recommend to have her examined by the veterinarian today. Small puppies can become very sick very fast and so need aggressive, early intervention. Make sure to bring in a sample of fresh stool. The doctor will check her for parasites and bacterial over growth. Many times a bland diet can help and then a slow, gradual introduction to the normal food can be done. A good diet in general is Royal Canin. It is low residue and highly digestible. Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! I’d bring a collective stool sample from the puppies to the vet to check for parasites especially coccidia. You can start deworming the puppies at 2 weeks with pyrantel but that doesn’t get coccidia. Continue to weigh them daily. Their stool otherwise can be influenced by Lulu’s diet and any medications she maybe on. I hope this helps and I wish you all the best!

Puppy stools can have a wide range of normal. Changes are often due to what they are eating or intestinal parasites. Cow's milk is not appropriate for puppies, you need to go to a pet store and get puppy milk replacer. The spots on his belly look normal in the picture, but they could also be caused by insect bites or puppy pyoderma, which often resolves on its own. A vet examination can tell you what is going on for sure. The vet can also test for intestinal parasites that aren't treated with over the counter dewormers, like pyrantel. I would discontinue the medications you are giving. They will likely test him for intestinal parasites (so bring a fresh stool sample with you if you can) and test for parvovirus. If those tests are normal, they may take radiographs of his abdomen to look for foreign objects in his GI tract. Once a diagnosis is made they can discuss treatment options. With these symptoms in such a young puppy I would be concerned about intestinal parasites (hookworms, roundworms, coccidia), parvovirus or a congenital defect. I would recommend taking the young pup to the vet to be checked out. If the puppy is not eating well or is losing a lot of fluids through vomiting and diarrhea then she will most likely need supportive care. I hope this helps.
