My unvaccinated cat is drooling blood. Is it a serious infection?

There are some contagious viruses such as calicivirus that can cause ulcers in the mouth along with other upper respiratory signs such as sneezing and nasal discharge. It is also possible that both cats were exposed to a toxin or something caustic that injured their mouths if they go outdoors or have access to any chemicals. If their symptoms have been present for more than 24 hours I'd recommend taking them to an emergency veterinarian. They can examine both cat's mouths to look for problems and determine whether or not they may be dehydrated from not eating or drinking.

It sounds like your vet diagnosed her with an upper respiratory infection. Depending on the virus that causes this, the signs can appear in the eyes, nose or mouth. There is a virus called calicivirus that can cause sneezing and ulcers in the mouth. These can be quite painful and make the cat not want to eat. I typically recommend feeding a canned diet so she can lap it up rather than chew it. A/D is a good diet for this. It is made by Hill's and is available by prescription through a veterinarian. I also will sometimes prescribe pain medication to keep them comfortable and eating while they have ulcers in their mouths. I would recommend calling your veterinarian in the morning to discuss these things. We don't want her to go too long without eating.

I would be concerned about Zapatitos being nauseas, having infection or trauma inside the mouth or even a toxin if possible exposure. I would recommend taking her to a vet to have a good detailed exam to help narrow down why Zapatitos is hyper salivating. It is important to look under her tongue and make sure string is not attached causing a foreign body. Also you can look in her mouth to make sure you do not see any type of sores. Sometimes cats will chew electrical wires and get burns in the mouth or even have viruses that cause ulcers. All of these things can cause hyper salivation. I think a vet visit is best to help Zapatitos feel better as soon as possible.

Hello. I am concerned that Snowball may have some issues with the tissues deeper in his mouth. There is a condition called stomatitis, which can cause bleeding, inflammation & significant pain. Your cat will be reluctant to eat as it hurts to swallow. Your veterinarian can discover the cause of the blood & hopefully make some recommendations for treating Snowball & hopefully get him feeling better soon. He needs to be seen by a veterinarian. He looks like he really doesn't feel well from the photo. The red spots on the tongue could be ulcerations (due to a toxin ingestion or kidney disease for example) or they could be cancer (very common in cats). This is not something you can fix at home. Calicivirus is one of the options but it could also be an autoimmune disease. In some cases the pain killers and antibiotics are not enough and affected cats will need to undergo partial or total teeth extraction, which is kind of a last resort option but your cat will have a much better quality of life after it is done.

It is possible phantom has rabies but very unlikely. Rabies is not a common disease in out domestic animals. I would be concerned about a possible viral or infectious cause of oral pain. Calicivirus can cause oral ulcers and tongue ulcers in young cats. Typically the treatment for viral infections is supportive care and pain management. I would recommend taking Phantom to a vet for a closer exam. Also you can start a lysine supplement to help decrease viral replication. In the mean time you can try and feed wet food. This might be less painful to eat than hard. IT is also possible the hyper salivation and pain is due to an obstruction or nausea. Your vet will help determine the cause and provide proper treatment.
