My adopted male cat doesn't spray. How do I know if he's neutered?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | unneutered | 1 year and 11 months old | 5 lbs

How to identify if a cat is neutered ? I have adopted an adult male cat abandoned by previous owners. However he shows no signs of a typical male cat like spraying, fighting with other males or even calling a mate.

Male cats will have a scrotum with two testicles in the scrotum if they are not neutered. If a male cat is neutered they will still have a scrotum but it might be very small and no testicles will be present. If you look under the tail right under the rectum is where the testicles would be located. hope that helps
