My kitten is trying to eat my fish and birds. How can I stop her?

The fish likely won't make him sick but if you are seeing problems with it, maybe confining him in your room when your Auntie is home will solve the problem! I wish you all the best!

It won't make your cat forget about them, thats for sure. However, a different cage may be more protective for the birds. Ideally, you might consider keeping the birds cage in a room that is closed off to the cat. This will keep the cat away from them entirely. The constant stalking that the cat may be doing to the birds could stress them out significantly and also may frustrate your cat. Sorry I don't have an easy solution for you here. Best of luck! Bobby and Coco are adorable! I do recommend only feeding Bobby kitten food. This is a common problem where kittens will want the adult food. I would recommend once Coco is done with her food and she walks away to just pick it up. You are already feeding in different rooms so just by picking up the food should help. Otherwise, if Bobby cannot jump hight then I would put Coco's food higher up. Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.

Oh dear it sounds like your kitten is quite the rascal. Could you try training her to use a water bottle instead with a sipper? It also sounds like she is quite playful and needs a lot to keep her stimulated. You can look into cat toys that she has to chase. You can also find treat-dispensing toys at your local pet store, that require her to bat it around to get the kibbles out. I'm a big fan of these because they mimic a cat's natural hunting instinct. Laser pointers are a tried and true favourite as well. In the meantime, I'm afraid you may have to kitten-proof your home, at least for now. Take away any access to your clothes, etc. Only put out cat-friendly toys that you don't mind getting wet. And you can always try a lesser amount of water in her dish if the water bottle doesn't work out. I hope this helps! Good luck with your kitten!

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Coco is adorable! Coco is just a kitten. Puppies and kittens sadly bite a lot. I would discourage play with your hands and only use toys. Also if she is sitting on your lap and you are petting her watch for signs that she is becoming annoyed with what you are doing (tail starts to flick, ears turning, turning her head towards your hand) and stop petting her. Most cats only like to be scratched or pet on their head and not past their shoulder blades. When she allows you to pet her without biting offer her treats. Refrain from chasing her, picking her up suddenly, rough housing with her as that can agitate cats then they become anticipatory for only negative interactions with you. When she is around you and not biting offer treats. Again she is very young and will likely grow out of a significant amount of this biting behavior. I wish you all the best!

Hello. You do not say how old the kitten is, but this may just be the kitten learning how far he can push his older companion, or he is beginning to learn some dominance. Discourage the behavior by gently shooing the kitten away & distracting him with a treat or some play time with you. I have a cat that every time he sees my little dog sitting on my lap, he has to jump up & start chewing on the poor dog's ear. We then have to take turns to see who gets to sit in my lap.
