Why is my Sphynx kitten throwing up bile but acting normal?

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Poor Sibby! She is very cute! Fleas usually do not make kittens not eat and vomit. I wouldn't put any flea medication on her until she sees your Vet. Since she is so young and is a cat we do not like them to not eat for more than 2-3 days. It is time to have her seen. Causes of not eating and vomiting in kittens are: intestinal parasites, viral or bacterial infections, feline leukemia or FIV, feline infectious peritonitis, ate something gross, ate something causing a blockage, food allergy or intolerance. I would bring a stool sample with you to the appointment. I wish Sibby a speedy recovery!

I am sorry Sock is not feeling well. This much vomiting is not normal. I would be concerned about a foreign body causing obstruction, infection or even possible coccidia. I would recommend taking Socks to the vet for additional testing like an x-ray of the abdomen and even possible blood work. the concern is dehydration and weight loss with the vomiting. I am very sorry how long it has taken an expert to get back to you. I also am very sorry to hear that Sassy is experiencing these problems, I am sure it is very unsettling for you both. There are a number of potential causes of such clinical signs, including dietary indiscretion, pancreatitis, parasite infestation, infection, and ingestion of a toxin or poison. Because you have only noticed these signs over the course of two days I would continue to monitor Sassy at home. Rest Sassy's gastrointestinal tract by holding back food for 6 hours. Then you can continue with a bland and easily digested food of the boiled chicken breast and provide plenty of fresh water. If Sassy does not improve, has profuse vomiting or diarrhoea, you notice fresh blood, Sassy seems lethargic, in pain or depressed I would advise a trip to the veterinarian. It sounds as Pixie is suffering from a gastrointestinal condition, possibly an infection. it could also be due to ingestion of a foreign body material. i would recommend taking him to the vet the first chance you get, he will need to be checked first, if the vet thinks it's a simple gastrointestinal infection he will need an anti vomiting injection, antibiotics and a special food for a few days in order to get better.

Vomiting can be observed with gastroenteritis, dietary indiscretion, food sensitivity, foreign body ingestion and obstruction or other conditions such as pancreatitis or kidney disease. I am concerned that she is becoming dehydrated. I do not think this is because of the fish. I recommend that you have her evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. Likely diagnostics to be performed include abdominal imaging and general bloodwork. Treatment would be based on findings. Good luck and have a great day!

Hi there and thank you for using pet coach to address your concern. She may be very dehydrated and the pale gums may indicate they she is anemic. I am concerned about her based on your description and would recommend that she see a veterinarian as soon as possible to help better determine what could be going on.
