My Sphynx kitten has colored nose discharge and sneezes. Should I take him to the vet?

I have a 9 almost 10 week old sphynx. After he wakes up i notice nose discharge and he sneezes a bit with a coloroled discharge. Should i take him to the vet?

If it is blood or green, yellow mucous then yes but if he is eating and drinking fine you don't have to make it an emergency trip unless there is a nose bleed. Monitor his eyes because if they get a respiratory infection they can also get conjunctivitis

Don't believe them Your kitty needs vet care. A clinical exam will determine how bad this upper respiratory infection is. Blood coming from the nose is serious in a kitten, and could point to a fungal or severe bacterial and viral infection. This kitten will need prescription antibiotics.
If you are able, take its temperature, it will likely have a fever. You will need to wipe the discharge from the nostrils reularly as kittens will not eat if they cannot taste the food. This little boy looks pretty miserable, so I do suggest you take him to a vet for an exam and treatment. Thank you for taking care of him!

My cat's sneezing for weeks, nose bleeding. When to see a vet?

Since this has bene going on for a while, I would get it checked by your vet as soon as possible. It could be a cold, he could have sneezed some particle of foreign material up into his nasal cavity, he could have a polyp in his nose, there's no way to know for sure without an exam with your vet. The greenish tinge to the discharge may mean he already has an infection going on. Your vet will do an exam, possibly lab work and/or x-rays to determine what's going on and based on these results will be better able to tell you what's wrong and give you treatment options.

Is it a lot of blood or just a drop? if it is a lot of blood I recommend emergency. If it is a drop and only happened once and he is acting ok then you can wait. There are veterinarians typically open on Saturday that are not emergency hospitals. I would talk with your veterinarian about a possible polyp if he consistently is having respiratory issues. My cat gets a clear runny nose in cold weather. What should I do?

If your kitty has no problems breathing, and if the discharge stays clear, then you do not have to do anything. The next time she has that discharge, take her temperature and if it is 102F or higher you should monitor her for lethargy or not eating, as she may have a viral infection. If the discharge is purulent (yellow or green) she needs to be seen by a veterinarian.

That's great Zamba is eating well, but it is not normal for him to be sneezing, especially with green discharge. At his age an upper respiratory infection is likely. I recommend a vet visit to diagnose and get him started on antibiotics. Good luck and kisses to Zamba!

Sneezing and clear eye discharge can indicate the beginnings of something, or may be allergy related. Keeping the eyes and nose clear with a clean washcloth may help. If the discharge changes to yellow or green, Pinta becomes congested, or she becomes feverish, lethargic, or stops eating, those are all signs of something more serious such as an upper respiratory infection that requires veterinary care.
