Does an 8-week Ragdoll kitten need AC or adjust to room temperature?

Actually, kittens want it warm, very warm. So I would not put them in a cooler room unless they start panting. As long as they have fresh water available. Most cats in temperate climates are feeling cold, which is why they try to spend time in the sun and near fire places. They will be ok in your air conditioned room, but they will seek your body heat, as they might feel cold.

During the first three weeks of life, kittens are unable to regulate their body temperature, so temperatures less than 27C can lead to hypothermia if their mother does not keep them warm. Usually by seven weeks of age, they can control their body temperature as well as an adult. Given your kittens are just over three weeks, this still may be a little bit cold for them. I would keep the temperature in their room a bit higher until they are closer to seven weeks of age. I hope this helps!

Hello. If the temperature in your spare room is too uncomfortable for you, then it is too hot for your cat. Room temperature of 68 to 75 degrees Fahrenheit are acceptable. If the room is hotter than that, your cat should not be in there. It would be better to move her to an area with better temperature regulation. Thank you

Great question! That is a fine temperature for Luna, and she should be comfortable. That is a temperature that is the lower end of the ideal temperature for a newborn baby's room, and since she have fur unlike a human baby, she will be just fine. If you are a bit concerned that she could be cold, you can get her a heated cat bed, or leave out some blankets for her to curl up in at night. She may even enjoy coming into your room to sleep with you at night! It's so lovely you are so concerned about her, and I hope this helps!

Hi, cats can do well in a variety of temperatures. The do not necessarily need to have air conditioning but if the temperature gets above 85 degrees, put a fan on them and make sure they have access to lots of cool water. Have the person checking on them look for lethargy, panting or not wanting to eat. If they are acting fine, they should be fine. If you are concerned about them getting out, make sure the screens are secure. Cats generally won't climb through window screens unless they are being chased. Good luck!

If you are able to sit in your apartment without distress, then your kitties if they are in good health should be able to tolerate it, but I would provide plenty of cool water and fans to help cool them, and if they show signs of distress such as excessive panting or lethargy/decreased appetite consider bringing them to a friend's house or boarding them somewhere with air conditioning. If they have any underlying health problems it may be more dangerous for them/possible for them to become overheated.

It's probably unlikely that Duchess got sick from being in an air conditioned room unless the room was so cold that her immune system was suppressed.
