Pregnant cat weak, shaking, not eating. Is this an emergency?

I am worried that Mimi may have a complication with the pregnancy. Pregnant cats (especially later in pregnancy) are usually very hungry. For her not to be hungry indicates that she is really feeling bad. I recommend taking her to get examined by a vet as soon as you can. It doesn't seem like an emergency, but best if you can get her to the vet within the next 24 hours. I hope that helps and Mimi gets better soon.

You can see a cat lose its appetite while pregnant, usually around three to four weeks into the pregnancy. It is good that you took Puffy into a vet, however, as it sounds like she was sick if she had a high fever. I am a little concerned that she still is only eating a little, and I would take her back into the vet for a health check to make sure everything is ok. It's very important for her health and the health of her kittens to eat properly, and since she has been sick, follow up visits with the vet should be done. I would be concerned she may be unwell - although vomiting and diarrhea can be seen generally if related to labor then delivery should start within a couple of hours - not 2+ days. I recommend you have her checked by your vet to ensure she is not carrying any infections which could potentially be passed onto the kittens

Decreased appetite is normal in the later stages of pregnancy. So no worries there, as long as she is eating portions of her food. Loose stool can also occur, but should return to normal after a few days, and she should still have normal energy level and not hide. Hiding in cats, when they typically are social cats, is usually an indicator that something is wrong. I would see how she does in the next day or two, and if the diarrhea does not resolve, then have her stools checked by your vet. I would continue to keep a close eye on Irma. If you aren't exactly sure of her breeding date, she may be farther along than you expect. If her pregnancy has not been confirmed with ultrasound or x-rays, it is possible that she has a false pregnancy. We can't judge pregnancy based on the size of the belly, since kittens will move things around as they grow - the belly doesn't always get as large as you would expect. Decreased appetite and some diarrhea can occur shortly before going into labor. If the diarrhea and poor appetite last longer than 24 hours and Irma hasn't gone into active labor, then I would recommend that you have her checked out by a vet. I'm sorry Mago isn't feeling well at the moment! It's good that she has been eating and drinking normally, but it is concerning that she is coughing, throwing up mucus, and wheezing. Because her health is so important for her kittens, I would have her seen by a vet in the morning. The vet can prescribe medications if needed to treat her symptoms. I hope this helps!

If she is close to her due date, she could have stopped eating because she is ready to give birth. If not, then there may be other medical issues going on. Without an exam it is hard to say. I would offer her kitten food- canned and dry- and continue to monitor her. If she doesn’t eat for longer than 24 hours, I recommend taking her to a vet for an exam.
