Why is my pregnant cat sleeping and vomiting after labor signs?

I am very concerned about what you describe especially being just 2-3 weeks postpartum. I worry that she may have a uterine infection, a retained fetus, or a possibly mastitis. I would be concerned she may be unwell - although vomiting and diarrhea can be seen generally if related to labor then delivery should start within a couple of hours - not 2+ days. I recommend you have her checked by your vet to ensure she is not carrying any infections which could potentially be passed onto the kittens

Any abnormal behavior or sign of illness that persists, worsens or other signs develop are an indication to see your veterinarian. It's possible she has a kitten still inside of her or other problem going on. Your vet can gather a history, perform an examination and then advise you on any diagnostic tests needed. Possible tests include blood/urine tests and imaging studies such as x-rays/ultrasound. Once a diagnosis is made a sound treatment plan can be implemented. Good luck with Mimcha and happy holidays.

I'm sorry Mago isn't feeling well at the moment! It's good that she has been eating and drinking normally, but it is concerning that she is coughing, throwing up mucus, and wheezing. Because her health is so important for her kittens, I would have her seen by a vet in the morning. The vet can prescribe medications if needed to treat her symptoms. I hope this helps!

Hi, and thanks for your question. This may be caused by the space occupying kittens pushing on abdominal organs. I would suggest to withhold food for the next 8-12 hours and then start feeding with a bland diet based on boiled chicken and rice in small portion every 6 hours for the following 48hours. Then gradually reintroduce the normal diet over 5 days but you can keep the meals in small portions. I would definitively recommend a veterinary check up if the signs persist or you notice diarrhoea, more vomiting, lethargy or inappetence. You really need to have Lilli to a vet for exam. Something is obviously wrong. You can't leave her like this to vomit every day and be miserable. With the hair loss, she could have ringworm, mange or any number of diseases. Again, a vet visit is needed to figure this out. Also, I suggest you have her spayed so she doesn't get pregnant anymore. Obviously that took a toll on her body.

Hello, I do worry that Lucy may have retained placenta or a uterine infection that could be causing pain. I worry whenever cats become lethargic and stop eating.
