Pregnant cat drooling while sleeping: Is this normal or a vet concern?

I would be concerned about Zapatitos being nauseas, having infection or trauma inside the mouth or even a toxin if possible exposure. I would recommend taking her to a vet to have a good detailed exam to help narrow down why Zapatitos is hyper salivating. It is important to look under her tongue and make sure string is not attached causing a foreign body. Also you can look in her mouth to make sure you do not see any type of sores. Sometimes cats will chew electrical wires and get burns in the mouth or even have viruses that cause ulcers. All of these things can cause hyper salivation. I think a vet visit is best to help Zapatitos feel better as soon as possible.

You should have Patches checked out by a vet. Clear discharge could actually be saliva from hypersalivation. This can be caused by issues or pain swallowing, some types of infections like FIV, stomatitis, dental disease, among others. The vet will do a thorough exam and may need to do bloodwork to diagnose the condition and find an appropriate treatment.

Poor Maizey! I would be concerned that she has a dental problem causing the sneezing, nasal discharge, drooling, and chewing motions that you are seeing. A dental problem such as a broken tooth or a tooth root abscess could be the cause of this, and it would lead to her drinking less water due to pain. I would have her seen by a vet for this today or tomorrow. The vet can examine her mouth, and discuss performing a dental cleaning, scaling, and polishing if needed. Good luck, I hope this helps!

I would recommend having a veterinarian examine her so that the most appropriate diagnostic and treatment recommendations can be made. She could be dealing with severe dental disease or other disease in her mouth. The drooling could also be a sign of nausea so I would also recommend having her blood tested to see if there are any systemic changes that could be causing the drooling / nausea. There are a number of reasons that kitens will drool, but I will discuss a few. Kittens will lose their baby teeth and get their adult teeth in between 3 and 6 months of age. The smaller baby teeth are usually just swallowed and you may never see them. When they are loosing their baby teeth, the adult teeth come in under the baby teeth and can be painful or irritating which can cause drooling. Another possibility if the drooling is only occuring when Nala is kneading is a normal physiological response that can occur with kneading. Some cats grow out of it and some continue it. Finally, cats and kittens can drool if they are nauseated or have a problem swallowing. If Nala has any change in her appetitie, problem swallowing or is vomiting, I would certainly have her evaluated. Are there any plants that she has been chewing on that could be irritating her mouth? If it is getting worse or there are any other clinical signs, she should also be evaluated. I'm sorry they did not examine her when you took her in. Thank you for submitting your question regarding Pou. Drooling is typically the result of nausea, oral pain or ingesting something with a bad taste. He will need to see his veterinarian if his symptoms persist. If he did acquire the respiratory infection from his housemate, then post-nasal drop could be making him nauseous. Typically excess salivation is either caused by nausea or pain (oral or abdominal), although this is not an all inclusive list. There can still be oral disease present, especially if these missing teeth were not removed but fell out. Cats can get resorptive lesions of their teeth which can be really painful and the changes can be hard for owners to detect. They can also get lesions in their mouth (stomatitis, a mass, ulcers, etc.) that an owner may not see. Additionally diseases of other body systems may cause drooling (kidneys, gi, etc ). I would recommend your kitty seeing a vet for a thourough oral exam and blood work to start. A good oral exam will likely require sedation and perhaps dental xrays.
