My pregnant cat has discharge. Is it her mucus plug or something else?

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Female | unspayed

My cat is pregnant, I want to say she is around 8-8.5 weeks along, and I noticed this discharge today. (In photos). Does this look like possibly her mucus plug was lost or something else?

That could definitely be mucous plug. It’s certainly not enough or abnormal enough for me to be panicking about anything serious. Leave her to her quiet area tonight and check on her every hours or two.

If you do see larger amounts of fluid, dark discharge, foul-smelling discharge, or have other concerns, see a vet right away.

    If she is acting fine and the discharge was once or very infrequent I wouldn't worry. It could be part of her mucous plug. It may indicate labor is coming soon, but just like in people it can mean a week or 1 day. Watch her closely. If she isn't acting normally I would worry about infection and I recommend having her seen by your Vet.

    If this discharge doesn't smell bad, has no blood in it, and Wompus is acting normally, this may be a normal discharge. Without seeing her in person, however, I can't say for certain. I'd take her into the vet in the morning to get checked out to be safe. Best of luck.

    This could be Ajira's mucous plug. It can come out up to a week before labor occurs. Continue to monitor her, and if she reaches 69 days pregnancy with no signs of labor, take her into a vet immediately. Best of luck.

Hello, mild discharge during gestation is normal. As long as Shadow is otherwise eating, drinking, defecating, and urinating normally and she seems otherwise like her normal self, then I would continue to monitor her. If you ever see larger volumes of discharge or bleeding then I would definitely have Shadow evaluated by a veterinarian immediately. Hope this helps

Pregnant cat has discharge, no kittens or milk. What should I do?
Hello, at this point, just give her some more time, as long as she does not seem to be in any distress. Milk letdown is often stimulated with uterine contractions & the physical stimulation of the kittens attaching to the nipples. Since I cannot see the actual discharge you are seeing, I cannot say if this is normal cervical secretions or a problem, so if you are very concerned, contact your veterinarian to examine her to make sure she is having a healthy pregnancy. Hello. As long as she seems to be acting fairly normal, this is probably just a normal discharge as the cervix begins to dilate. She should start delivering kittens in the next 24-48 hours. Is green discharge normal for a pregnant cat about to give birth?
The greenish discharge can indicate early separation of the placenta, and it's not considered normal in cats. It could be that one of the kittens could have separated early from its placenta, and I would take Mia into the vet now to get checked up to be safe. Best of luck.

Any vaginal discharge in a pregnant cat other than a transparent discharge is not normal. If you notice a vaginal discharge you need to visit the vet, as this may indicate that the cat has a problem which can result in an abortion. She could also have a urinary tract infection. But in any case, she should be seen by a veterinarian.
