Can Petco vets issue international travel certificates for cats?

Unfortunately, no, we cannot. A travel certificate (actually it's called a "health certificate") must be completed by a veterinarian who has examined your pet in person. The reason is that we want to be reasonably sure that the pet is free of disease, and has been appropriately vaccinated against contagious disease (rabies) before it crosses international borders. The good news is that the procedure for getting a health certificate to travel to Mexico is fairly straightforward, and really no more involved than getting a certificate to travel to another U.S. state. Call your vet and ask if he/she is "USDA-accredited", which means he/she will be able to complete the exam and sign the form you need for travel. Good luck and enjoy Mexico!

They can help you follow the very exact and time sensitive protocols required to transport animals from the US to other countries. If you are referring to the Vetco vaccine clinics at Petco stores, the vet will not be able to implant something you bring with you, they are only able to inject vaccines or microchips that the company provides. I would recommend contacting a full service veterinary clinic for your needs.

No, this is not a service that Petco generally provides. Most veterinary clinics do not offer this service either. I would call around to veterinary clinics in your area to find out for sure. You can also contact the Humane Society, as they are the ones that typically do this for animals. You can have a microchip administered and have all of this information embedded into the microchip for identification as well. This service is provided at most veterinary hospitals and Vetco clinics to provide this service as well. Mist vaccine clinics only do vaccines and not exams or provide records past vaccinations. I would recommend that you find an established Vet for Piper.
