Do natural, cheap flea remedies really work for kittens and home?

Treating a flea infestation involves treating the pet(s) as well as the environment. Frequently, these "natural" products do little to resolve an infestation.They don't last long enough and/or are simply ineffective. You can use CapStar, a small pill, to kill any fleas on Luna within 30 minutes of ingestion This can be obtained from your veterinarian and can be given daily if needed. Hello! Unfortunately there are no natural remedies for fleas. They do not work at all, no matter what some people claim on the internet, and some of them are frankly dangerous and can be deadly. We would not be offering the medications we do if they weren't safe. Of course, there is always a chance of side effects, but you find that with any medication. Fleas can cause serious problems in cats, so it's best to keep them protected with medication that actually works. I hope this helps.

To be sure that you have done everything that can be done to prevent infestation of your other pet, I would recommend using a flea fogger from Lowe's or Home Depot to kill all the fleas that can hide in the cracks of your sofa and carpet. You will need ot evacuate all the pets from the home during the treatmnet, as instructed ont he canister. I wuld also recommend the next treatment of flea prevenation to be a higher quality flea preventative than Sentry. Sentry is a low quality flea preventative unfortunately. I only recommend the following for quality flea preventatives: 1) Revolution 2) Cheristin 3) Advantage 4) Comfortis I hope that you get rid of these fleas for good and protetct your other cat from getting them. YOu can also give your older cat a Capstar right before doing the flea fogger to really guarantee that she/he is flea free. Hi I would suggest you buy a box of 6 pipettes of Revolution. Make sure you apply one pipette on each cat to the skin to the back of their neck, so it’s important you part hair when applying it. You need to repeat it every month. I would also suggest you spray the environment to kill all eggs and larvae present. Unfortunately, there is no evidence that any of these "natural" alternatives work well for fleas, and I have never seen any of my clients have much success with them. If you want to use a flea collar, I would recommend the Seresto collar - it's safe and non-toxic, and is usually quite effective for both fleas and ticks.

This will not work well because if the flea life cycle. Your best option is to treat all the pets in the home. Depending on the age and size of the puppies, there are likely product restrictions (aka not safe). Top products for adult dogs are oral products such as Simparica and Nexgard (some can be used on puppies pending age and size). Top products for cats are topicals such as Revolution and Cheristan. There is also an oral product called Comfortis that both dogs and cats can take. You will need to switch all the pets over to a good flea product. Make sure to discuss these products with your veterinarian first. These products are generally safe for all pets but there are some conditions which are contraindicated for the oral products. Cleaning up and treating the house and yard will also help but it will not clear all the fleas. The main control is making sure the pets are on good products. This is what will ultimately stop the infestation. Also remember every female fleas lays about 50 eggs a day and it could take up to 6 months before the eggs hatch.
