What safe medicine can I give my munchkin cat for back leg pain?

I am so sorry Mazzy isn't feeling well. There is nothing over the counter that you can give her- she is too small and nothing is safe for cats. There is also limited medications in veterinary medicine for cats. I would recommend keeping her confined with her litter box and food in a small crate or bathroom, so she doesn't re-injure herself. She does need to see a vet to rule out a fracture or dislocation. They will be able to prescribe something safe for pain for her. Good luck and kisses to Mazzy!

You can't give your cat anything from a human pharmacy for the pain, human pain killers are toxic to cats, if she is in pain you will need to take her to the vet in order to get a prescription for a cat pain killer such as Onsior for example.

Poor Mavis! No, do NOT give aspirin or any other human over-the-counter pain medications, as these are extremely toxic in cats. Unfortunately, there is nothing you can get over the counter that would be safe to give her. If she's holding up the leg completely and/or seems really painful on it, then I would recommend having her seen tonight at an emergency clinic for an exam and possibly x-rays. If this isn't possible, then I would take her to your regular vet tomorrow morning to be seen if she's still limping.

(Easier said than done, I realize.) If this is a mild soft tissue injury, he may just need some time to rest and heal. Unfortunately no. Many OTC pain medications are toxic to cats, and are fatal if given. If Oliver is in a lot of pain, he needs to see a vet now. Please take him into an ER vet clinic; if there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. I'm sorry to hear that Elijah is limping and painful! Unfortunately, I don't think it's advisable to give him the Onsior that you have on hand without having first checked his bloodwork to assess his kidney values. Cats are very sensitive to pain medications, particularly NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) like Onsior, so they should only be given when specifically prescribed for the incident at hand. Aspirin (like Bufferin) is highly toxic to cats and should not be given under any circumstances. Since he seems so uncomfortable, it would be ideal to take him to an ER this weekend for more urgent evaluation. The ER vet will be able to prescribe pain medication for him.
