My mini pig has diarrhea after eating fruit. Did Pepto make it worse?

Pet's info: Farm Animal | Pig | Male | neutered | 11 months and 24 days old | 40 lbs

I have a mini pig 40 lbs, 1 year old. the past 2 days he’s been having loose stool and then today I gave him pepto bismol and now it’s diarrhea, I do feed him a lot of fruit i don’t know if that can be why??

There are many things that can cause diarrhea in pigs. Yes, it could be from eating too much fruit. I can be from eating too much of anything actually. It could be from him eating something he isn't used to eating. It could be that he has picked up an intestinal parasite (worms). It could be from stress. Any number of viruses can cause diarrhea, etc.

If he is acting otherwise normal I would give it a few days to see if the diarrhea resolves on it's own. If not, then you should have a vet check him out and get a fecal test. I don't think you should continue to give him any Pepto or other medications.
