No, apple cider vinegar will not slow down the UTI, and he won't eat it due to the taste. Water mixed with wet food is better than chicken broth because chicken broth has salt in it, which can be dehydrating. I do recommend water mixed with his wet food to flush his bladder, that is the best option for him.

I am afraid bladder stones are very painful. Home remedies are not reliable and at best prolong this painful condition. It is much more humane to feed Franko a specific diet food that will usually dissolve bladder stones within about three to six weeks, provided they are struvite stones. Your veterinarian can sell you the diet. Apple Cider Vinegar, Oolong tea etc., are not palatable for cats and will not dissolve bladder stones.

Hello. In your post, you indicated that your cannot cannot pee. This is a life threatening emergency and he should be taken to the closest hospital or emergency clinic. If he has an obstruction, this needs to be taken care of immediately. In addition to it being very painful, it causes kidney failure and he can die if this is not corrected immediately. His urine should be looked at microscopically to determine if he has an infection or crystals or possibly a small stone. He will require a catheterization while sedated to relieve the blockage. He will probably need fluids and may require hospitalization. While the antibiotics you have listed are all potentially good for a uti, we are legally not permitted to prescribe or recommend a dose without an examination. It's not likely a UTI, cats tend to suffer from a condition called FLUTD that mimics a UTI but it's actually related to stress and doesn't involve a bacterial infection. in most cases it advances to a urinary blockage and the c at can die within several hours of that happening. you must take him to the vet urgently for treatment.

Raw food is not really recommended; the risk of severe infection with bacteria (mainly E. coli and Salmonella) is not worth it. Diet has not been implicated in causing urinary issues in cats anyway. Urinary issues are usually due to stress. It is actually very rare for a male cat to have a true urinary infection (just like in a male human) - the urethra is very long and it is difficult for bacteria to get all the way up it and into the bladder. Do not medicate your pet without the advice of your veterinarian. Inappropriate antibiotic use can lead to resistant bacteria and may complicate the underlying condition.
