How soon after neutering can my male cat be with an unspayed female?

It takes time for the hormone levels to drop, so the neighbor's cat can probably still smell them, especially if she was in season when she was spayed. Keep your cat inside away from the other cat until she is completely healed.

She will probably not let him come around her. A male cats penis has little barbs or spines on it so it won't be comfortable for her to let him mate her. Hello. Barring any complications, recovery is pretty quick, usually a day or so. But we do recommend taking things easy for 10-14 days to give all the tissues a chance to heal. There is also a small chance that a male dog may have some residual sperm in his reproductive tract that could potentially get a female dog pregnant. If Naomi still is full of milk, there is potentially more risk of bleeding and/or infection. We generally recommend that kittens be kept away from mom and not allowed to nurse for at least 2 weeks before the mom is spayed. Hello. Personally, I think this is a little long. I think this is just a generic recommendation for any surgery done at the neuter clinic. Feline neuters are generally well healed in a few days. Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! If she is no longer near where the kittens would be then you will have to assume she is done. I would give her a month or so to dry out. It does take time after kittens are weaned for the milk to stop coming, so finding milk still present isn't abnormal. There is not real way to tell otherwise. She will go back in to heat soon so keep her indoors. I wish you the best!

You may want to keep the cats separate from each other for a few days to let them calm down. Then re-introduce them slowly and only when they can be fully supervised.
