My kitten has warm paws, shivers, and heavy breathing. What to do?

Nibbles is so cute! There could be a few causes for the symptoms you describe - migration of internal parasites, viral infections, injury. I strongly recommend having her examined by your vet to try to determine why her leg is painful, and why she is shivering. I hope this helps.

The outdoor temperature is cold right now so if he was exposed to very cold temperatures for a prolonged period of time, he may be hypothermic. If she was so warm to have a fever she would be acting sick (lethargic, not eating, not playing, etc). I personally would not be worried about this at all. Don't give her a cold bath. At this age kittens cannot thermoregulate well and you will give her a chill which will be the opposite problem (and worse in my opinion). My best recommendation is to monitor her for any signs of illness - if you notice any then take her to the vet for a check-up. Hope this helps. Best wishes.

I am sorry your kitten is not feeling well. Unfortunately it sounds like she really needs to be seen by a vet. A lot of things can cause them to look pale. for example anmeia secondary to parasites and infectious disease. Also feline leukemia and feline aids can cause illness in a young kitten. I would try to keep her warm and syring feed pedylite or water. You can try to warm up wet food to see if that helps with her appetitie at all but she really should go to a vet

Loss of appetite and lethargy can be observed with many conditions such as gastroenteritis, dietary indiscretion, kidney disease, pancreatitis, among many other possibilities. Cold feet could be an indication of dehydration, low blood pressure, hypothermia, among many other possibilities. I recommend that you have Chaz evaluated by a veterinarian as soon as possible for further assessment and treatment as this can be something concerning. If you noticed blindness and deafness, then this could definitely indicate that she was born abnormal. The shaking and heavy breathing is very concerning and actually warrants emergency treatment, because she could be in shock. I recommend taking her to the vet as soon as you can to get a clear diagnosis of her condition and the necessary treatment.

Ideally, Aries should be physically examined by your veterinarian. If he is breathing normally, not lethargic, has pink gums and is not extremely painful, then you can likely have him examined first thing tomorrow. X-rays of the paw and leg may be indicated to diagnose any fractures. If you can, restrict his activity for the rest of the night. Use a cat carrier if you have one. If he is very painful or if his breathing becomes labored and he is lethargic, then he should be examined tonight at the nearest veterinary ER.
