My stray kitten is throwing up black worms. Could it be roundworms?

If those are worms, those are likely intestinal parasites. If they aren't really worms, they could be foreign objects that your cat previously ingested. If you were to collect them, you could take them to your family vetetinarian for an acccurate identification and after a physical examination, the veterinarian may prescribe a deworming medication. Many intestinal parasites are passed through the feces so spread of them amongst groups of pets is commo . It would be good to have your kittens checked out by a veterinarian and it may be recommended to have them dewormed as well.

Hello. Without a picture, I can only guess , but your cat probably vomited up some cord like material he swallowed. Cats do like to eat anything that looks like string. It is possible he tried to ingest a small snake, too, but whatever it was, I would just be happy he vomited it up rather than it becoming an obstruction in his intestines that could have required hospitalization. Those pictures are fuzzy but I agree it looks like those could be worms. Cats will vomit up round worms (most commonly) which can spread to humans. I recommend to play it safe and have Mouse examined and treated by the veterinarian. He should be checked for other types of worms as well that you cannot see. He will need treatment for the worms and I also recommend to discuss getting him on a monthly preventative to help decrease the potential for future infestations. I’m going to guess that this is a roundworm. It can be difficult to identify adult worms but it is usually much easier to identify eggs in a stool sample. I would recommend seeing your veterinarian for a stool analysis and to get the appropriate deworming medication.

It is probably a worm - a tapeworm or roundworm would be most likely. You should get a dewormer from your vet. Yes - a wormer designed for roundworms is the best option. Be sure to follow all directions as regards minimum age for use (some should not be used before 9weeks etc), correct species and weight and to repeat treatment at the correct frequency. If she is vomiting frequently, a spot on medication may be more useful to ensure she does not vomit the oral treatment before it has time to work. Yes, this is plenty of information :-) She definitely has worms based on your description, but without having a more complete description of the worms, I can't say what kind of worms Marbles has this time. It is a good idea to take her to the vet clinic tomorrow, and I would bring a sample of these worms with you for the vet to examine and diagnose.
