Is it normal for a kitten to be so tired after spay surgery?

It is normal that a kitten will be quieter than usual after a spay. It is an abdominal surgery, and it's important that she does stay as quiet as possible so she can heal correctly. Wearing an Ecollar can also lead them to be quieter than normal, as cats do not like them and act resigned to wearing them. If any of these are troubling to you, get her checked out some time soon. Also, I would flip her over and take a good look at her incision to see if it looks inflammed, red, or painful. I'm not sure how long ago Xenon was spayed, and while you would expect some lethargy and decreased appetite the first 24-48 hours after surgery, the cat should start to perk up after that time. If it's been 48 hours since her surgery and she is acting this way, I'd take her into a vet now to get checked out. Best of luck.

I am concerned as well. While a kitten can have some lethargy after receiving vaccines and deworming treatments, it's not normal for that to last more than a day or two. If she is eating and drinking normally, then you can wait until the morning to have her seen by a vet by a health check. Should she not be eating or drinking normally, then I would have her seen by an ER vet tonight.

Hi, the incision seems absolutely fine. However what you describe in terms of demeanour and behaviour is not expected after a few days. It could be that Kit cat has a temperature or that she is still in pain. I would recommend to have her checked over to exclude any potential post op concerns such as internal wound breakdown or an internal infection. If all is well, she could have some symptomatical treatment for pain and or/temperature.

It sounds like possible side effects due to the anesthesia, the raspy voice and the fact she is eating pureed food might be because of the intubation done during anesthesia. the sleepiness might be because of the pain killers if she is taking any. if she is the same on Monday you should take her back to your vet just to make sure everything is fine.
