Kitten threw up a worm. Should I go to the vet or buy medicine?

Yes - a wormer designed for roundworms is the best option. Be sure to follow all directions as regards minimum age for use (some should not be used before 9weeks etc), correct species and weight and to repeat treatment at the correct frequency. If she is vomiting frequently, a spot on medication may be more useful to ensure she does not vomit the oral treatment before it has time to work. If he vomited within 2 hours, I would recommend calling your vet to let them know and picking up a second dose to repeat the treatment. It likely didn't have enough time to absorb in to Allyson's system.

Roundworms are treated with a different dewormer than tapeworms, normally with pyrantel or fenbendazole. While there are different types of deworming medications available over the counter you would need to know what type of intestinal parasites your kitten has to choose the appropriate one, and that would most likely require a fecal analysis with your veterinarian. If your kitten is eating and drinking normally and seems active I would wait until your appointment. Your kitten has probably had the worms since birth! Most intestinal parasites are transmitted through stool so you should isolate the new kitten from the adult cat and give them separate litter pans.
