My kitten was squished by a dog; now he's lethargic and bloated.

Cat fights can be dangerous because often times it can result in serious injuries and most of the time what you see on the outside is just the tip of the iceberg and there is more going on internally. I would encourage you to try perhaps to have him evaluated by another veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. He is likely going to need evaluation to see the extent of his injuries and to check for something that could explain his vomiting. They would be able to check for these possibilities and treat him accordingly. I am very concerned about his painful abdomen and vomiting so I would recommend you try to seek veterinary help as soon as possible. Good luck!

However, it would be best to have him evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. They would be able to examine him to see if he appears to be painful for example which could be a reason to become lethargic and less interactive. He could also be somewhat traumatized by that encounter which he could potentially eventually get over. However, I still think that he should be evaluated. Good luck and have a good night! Poor baby. It sounds to me like he needs additional medical attention. His pain control may not be adequate for his injuries, or he could be developing an infection. I would recommend taking him to an emergency vet clinic tonight to be assessed and his treatment adjusted.

However, the best thing you can do is to keep him as quiet as possible for now until you can have him evaluated by a veterinarian. He likely has trauma in multiple places which is why he is so responsive to the touch. Often times after fights they have injuries beyond what you can see from the outside. They would be able to check the extent of the injuries and recommend the best course of action but for now, I recommend that you rest him as much as possible and keep an eye on him to make sure he is ok. If he does, even if you can't find one right now I would be concerned that he suffered a bite of some kind, as cats can develop abscesses fairly easily when they suffer a trauma. I would be concerned by his behavior, as it does sound like there may be an underlying issue going on, such as an infection, GI upset, or an underlying medical issue (such as kidney disease or diabetes). If he doesn't perk up, start eating and getting some energy back, I would recommend he be evaluated by his regular veterinarian to determine the underlying cause for his change in behavior, have any necessary testing done (xrays, bloodwork) and start any treatment he may need to resolve it. Not sure if he goes outside but if he does I would suspect that he has been in a fight with another cat or wild animal and now has developed an infection/abscess. I would advise taking him to your vet immediately to get him evaluated. Not sure if he has a rabies shot either. Your vet can evaluate him after gathering a history and can advise you on what to do. If it's from a fight or bite wounds, he may have to be sedated to explore the injuries further. Treatment may include antibiotics, pain meds, etc. If a bone injury is suspected, x-rays may be needed. If a fight is suspected a rabies shot or booster may be advised also. Good luck with Squishy.

I am so sorry that Koa is going through this. Regarding her belly I would say she most likely has intestinal parasites and it is a great thing that the vet dewormed her. If they did not run a stool sample I would recommend running one since not all parasites are covered under all dewormers. Regarding the lifting of her leg. I am wondering if they took blood on that hind limb. Typically with kittens that is where we get blood from and it may be bothering her.
