Why is my rescued kitten's diarrhea orange liquid and she won't eat?

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | 2 months and 16 days old | 2 lbs

I just rescued a 2 months old stray cat 2 days ago and gave her milk and baby food for the night. Her feces that night was normal. The next day I got some wet cat food and dry cat food to feed her so i changed her diet. Also I found out that I'm not supposed to give her milk so I gave her water instead. Last night and this morning she had diarrhea and she wouldn't eat her cat food. Her feces is basically orange liquid now. I tried giving her cat snacks but it didn't work. Please help me :(

I recommend to have Milly examined by the veterinarian and bring in a fresh stool sample to have her checked for parasites. Cats who have been outside a lot often have worms and protozoal parasites (some of which can spread to humans). Diet changes can also cause diarrhea. Lastly, kittens can be prone to bacterial over growth and any diarrhea lasting longer than 48 hours generally benefits from an antibiotic.
You can try feeling Milly a bland diet. A bland diet can consist of 25% boiled white meat chicken and 75% boiled white rice. This should all be plain. A good diet in general is Royal Canin. It is low residue and highly digestible and you can transition her to this diet once she is feeling better. I hope Milly starts feeling better quickly! Since you have dewormed then you can try giving Milo a bland diet of boiled plain chicken, tuna, or ground turkey and white rice to ease the stomach. My 4-week-old kitten has diarrhea from human milk. What to do?

Kitties can't digest human milk well. This is likely what gave your little one diarrhea. I would switch back to the KMR and start mixing in small amounts of wet kitty starter formula food. You can also mix in 1-2 tsp of canned pumpkin (not the pie filling) to help harden her stools and continue feeding her kitten only food. If he stools are not getting better after 24-48 hrs then its best to take her to your vet for a short course of antibiotics to get her bacterial flora back to normal. My adopted kittens have diarrhea and gas. What medicine to give?

I would recommend starting off with a good dewormer. Also you can add a probiotic or fiber to their diet. If the diarrhea is not resolving I would recommend taking them to a vet for a fecal exam and good physical exam. Some parasites like coccidia need special medications to treat. My 11-week-old kitten has diarrhea. Should I withhold food from her?

Withhold food for so long in such a small kitten is not recommended. Diarrhea is a signs referring to a intestinal problem. It could be due to parasitic infestation (very common in kittens) dietary indiscretion, inflammatory disease, bacterial diseases or viral diseases. You could provide bland food (boiled breast chicken or white fish or gastrointestinal commercial diet) for a 24-36 but, if she continues to have diarrhea, might get dehydrated and therefore need to be checked by a veterinarian. Also if you can spot blood in the faces or if she get lethargic and not eating, or if she start vomiting, I would suggest to have her checked by your veterinarian as soon as possible.  Good luck and post again on the forum if you need further advices. It could be potentially related to diet, but, considering the persistence of the signs,these episodes may be related to parasite infestation or a bacterial infection. I would suggest a check up at your local veterinarian, a fecal sample may be helpful for your vet. If already treated for worms, antibiotics may be needed.

My new kitten has loose orange stool. Is it diet or parasites?

Poor Venus! The most common cause of loose yellow or orange-colored stool in a kitten this age would be intestinal parasites. I would recommend first having her examined by a vet - he/she can take a fecal sample and check it under a microscope for parasites such as hookworms, roundworms, or coccidia. If any problems are found, they can also prescribe appropriate medication to treat the issue. In the meantime, you can try feeding her a bland diet of plain boiled chicken or chicken-flavored baby food to help settle her stomach until you are able to get her in to see the vet.

My 2-week-old kitten has olive green, runny diarrhea. What to do?

These signs could be compatible with a colitis, which is an inflammation of the last part of the colon, usually related to dietary indiscretion. As a first approach, I would suggest to start feeding with a bland diet based on boiled chicken and rice in small portion every 6 hours for the following 48hours. Then gradually reintroduce the normal diet over 5 days. I would definitively recommend a veterinary check up if the signs persist or you notice vomiting, lethargy or inappetence.
