My 2-month-old kitten's temp is 99.4. Should I be concerned?

That is a nirnak temperature for cats! It can go up to 102 without being considered a fever. If he is eating and drinking well then I would monitor him for any changes. He may have over done it and just need a rest. If he is not back to normal after 24 hours then I would get him checked.

If she was so warm to have a fever she would be acting sick (lethargic, not eating, not playing, etc). I personally would not be worried about this at all. Don't give her a cold bath. At this age kittens cannot thermoregulate well and you will give her a chill which will be the opposite problem (and worse in my opinion). My best recommendation is to monitor her for any signs of illness - if you notice any then take her to the vet for a check-up. Hope this helps. Best wishes.

Normal dog temperature is 100-102.5. If he has a fever, I would take him to a vet to determine why. If he doesn’t, you can offer him ice cubes or soft rubber toys for the teething. Cats paws can feel warm to us because a cat's normal body temperature is higher than ours, between 99.5 - 102.5 degrees Fahrenheit. Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Be sure that Okoye is eating a good quality kitten food like Purina, Hill's or Royal Canin. She should be dewormed a few times. Around 7-8 weeks she should see the Vet for the first time and be feline leukemia and FIV tested, dewormed and given her first vaccination. At less than 8 weeks old she should only weigh around 2 lbs. Cats feel warmer than us. Theire body temperature is normally 100-102. If she is eating and active I wouldn't worry that she feels warm. Unfortunately the only reliable way to measure the temperature remains intrarectally with a thermometer. If she is otherwise fine and not showing any sign at all, I would not be worried about her. Poor Lucy. It is always sad when our babies are sick and not feeling well. Sometimes an infection will start as a viral infection then develop a secondary bacterial infection. Cats normally are warmer than humans and have a normal body temperature of 100-102.5 degrees. If Lucy has a fever of over 103, I would recommend having her evaluated by a veterinarian if you have not already. If her infection is viral, she may just need some time and supportive care to make her feel better. I like taking kittens into a humid bathroom for 5-10 minutes (after you have showered) to help loosen their congestion. And make sure she keeps eating. Cats need to be able to smell their food, so you may need to feed her some smelly canned food to keep her eating. If Lucy develops yellow or green nasal discharge, is very lethargic or will not eat, I would recommend having her evaluated by your veterinarian. Good luck!
