Why is my kitten licking his swollen genitals and not growing?

This presentation could be due to a trauma (bite wound) or localized spot of skin infection (likely to be caused by bacteria or fungal). A check up, appropriate disinfection and possibly antibiotics or antifungal meds (oral, topical or in a shampoo formulation) are needed to solve the problem. Disinfection can possibly be started at home with very diluted hibiscrub or betadine or salted water baths. Buster collar may be useful as well to avoid any licking. That area is very infected and inflamed. There is not much you can do at home except give him a bath and keep it clean and dry. Keep the other kittens away so it can be spread or they can't make it worse A vet will have to examine how deeps those go and some antibiotics.

Swelling of the anus/rectum could be due to constipation/hard stools, anal gland issues, allergies, irritation, or other problems. You would need to have the area looked at by your vet to determine what is going on and get the appropriate treatment. Be sure to let your vet known of any other issues you may have seen such as changes in appetite, energy levels, stool habits, etc. You can also use an Elizabethan (cone) collar to prevent your cat from licking/chewing at the affected area if it is bothersome until you can get to your vet.

Poor kitten! I agree with you that this is concerning - in a tiny newborn kitten like this, a minor wound can cause internal injuries easily because they are so small and fragile. In addition, I would worry about this wound becoming infected and causing additional problems because of this. I would recommend taking the kitten to a veterinarian right away for an exam. Your vet can palpate the abdomen and may also take x-rays or do other testing if needed to determine if there are any serious problems. He/she can also prescribe an antibiotic to prevent infection of the wound.

I am having some difficulty understanding what you are saying. From the picture, I would be very concerned about more than just Zity's eye. His skin on the face also is not normal. This could be caused by a severe bacterial or fungal infection, viral infection, mites, among a few others. His eye itself looks very unhealthy, and it may have a corneal ulcer, which would need specific veterinary treatment to try to save it. Terramycin will help with minor bacterial infections, which I do not think this is a minor infection. An enlarged abdomen in a kitten can be caused by a severe intestinal parasite infestation, FIP, low blood protein, congenital defect, among a few others. Zity should have both the distended abdomen and the eye/face problems evaluated by a vet as soon as possible.

An Elizabethan (cone) collar to stop Lily from licking is a good first step as that will stop the irritation and spread of any bacteria from her tongue. Keeping the sore spot clean and dry with a washcloth or pet wipe can also help it to heal and clear up with less irritation. Hair coming back can take a bit longer if it's been licked bald. If the area doesn't heal even with home care, or worsens, a vet visit is best to check the spot, and treat it for any infection, etc.

Yes, you can give Socks a warm bath to help eliminate the odors, however, if he has liquid coming from his rear end, this may be diarrhea. Diarrhea in small kittens can be very dehydrating and is often a sign a serious infection such as from a virus like panleukopenia or from a parasite. I would recommend Socks see a veterinarian as soon as possible so he can be seen and treated. Your veterinarian may recommend submitting a fecal test to check his stool for viruses, bacteria, and parasites that could be a cause. He may need to be placed on fluids, antibiotics, and a special nutritional supplementation to help him recover. Without seeing his veterinarian, there is not a lot you can do at home other than what you have already been doing, unfortunately. I hope this helps and I wish you and Socks the best!
